Opeka is proud to partner with Sunny Cycles, an inspiring charity based in Glasgow Green that specialises in inclusive cycling experiences for people with disabilities.
Their wide range of accessible bikes allows individuals of all abilities to enjoy the freedom and joy of cycling in a safe and supportive environment. From tandem bikes to hand cycles and trikes, the equipment is designed to meet a variety of mobility needs, making sure that everyone can take part and feel confident.
For many of our participants, this experience is transformative. Some have gained enough confidence and skill to ride around Glasgow Green independently, an achievement they might not have thought possible before. The sessions are not only physically beneficial, promoting movement and coordination, but they also support mental wellbeing by encouraging independence, boosting self-esteem, and creating a strong sense of accomplishment.
A monthly highlight in our programme
Once a month, our Thursday group travels to Glasgow Green to take part in a session with Sunny Cycles. These outings are always met with excitement and enthusiasm. The staff at Sunny Cycles are experienced, friendly, and passionate about making cycling accessible to all, ensuring that each person feels safe and supported throughout the experience.
The partnership between Opeka and Sunny Cycles perfectly reflects our shared values of inclusion, empowerment, and opportunity. Each visit gives participants a chance to challenge themselves, enjoy the outdoors, and build confidence through an activity that is as fun as it is rewarding.
