Music Classes
Creating space for self-expression and confidence
At Opeka, our small music groups are designed to be welcoming, creative, and person-centred. With a maximum of 10 participants per session, we ensure that everyone receives individual attention and feels comfortable contributing in their own way. These sessions are led by skilled and passionate music instructors who bring energy, empathy, and flexibility to every class.
Rather than following rigid structures or formal teaching methods, our music sessions focus on collaboration, creativity, and enjoyment. Participants are free to express themselves through singing, rhythm, instruments, or simply by being present and enjoying the music. There is no pressure to perform or get things perfect. What matters is that everyone feels heard and valued.

A supportive rhythm
This relaxed approach helps individuals grow in confidence, improve their communication, and enjoy a sense of achievement. Over time, many participants begin to take on more active roles within the group, suggesting ideas, leading rhythms, or exploring new instruments. It becomes more than just a music class. It becomes a space for connection, discovery, and shared joy.
Our music sessions are held in two welcoming locations. On Tuesdays, the group meets at the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Bellahouston. On Thursdays, sessions take place at the Carswell Centre in Eaglesham. Both run from 1pm to 2pm and offer a calm and supportive setting where participants can explore music in a way that feels safe and enjoyable.
These sessions are open to adults with additional support needs and are tailored to suit a wide range of interests and abilities. Whether someone is new to music or has some experience, they will find encouragement, inclusion, and the freedom to explore their creativity at Opeka.
Join in the fun!
At Opeka, every day is a chance to try something new, discover hidden talents, and build confidence in a welcoming and supportive space.
Whether it’s through creative expression, hands-on activities, or simply joining in, we believe in the power of participation to spark joy and personal growth. You don’t need experience—just an open mind and a willingness to give it a go.
More than just activities, Opeka is a place where friendships are formed, laughter is shared, and everyone is encouraged to be themselves. It’s about growing together, learning from each other, and celebrating every step forward. Whatever your interests or abilities, you’ll find something here that inspires you.
